The Cotswolds

One of the main reasons Kathy had for visiting England was to see the Cotswolds.  Research suggested that the Cotswolds would represent the pastoral English countryside ...and the Cotswolds delivered!  This area is dotted by communities with limestone cottages and thatched roofs, beautiful English country gardens, and scattered estate homes.  Although Jane Austen was from Bath, for all of you Pride and Prejudice fans, the Cotswolds are where you would go searching for Mr. Darcy!

The Cotswald area is walking country and public access paths are commonly found across private properties.  Local stone was used for housing and fencing.

Chipping Camden is a market town that was once home to the richest Cotswold wool merchants.  It has some of the most beautiful thatched roof and limestome homes along with some of the most picturesque surrounding countryside.

Celebrities like Madonna, Elizabeth Hurley, Kate Moss, and Kate Winslet all have homes in the Cotswolds.
